see http://www.teaparty.net/technotes/lifebook.html and http://www.teaparty.net/technotes/lifebook-fc2.html for my writeups of fedora core on my P1120. the latter is the newer.

Just discovered your webpage and thought I'd let you know it is very helpful to see this info!

I just won a P1120 off of eBay, so hope to have it within a week. Hope it was a wise decision!

This will replace my little Libretto 110CT that I used with AmigoLinux (Slackware derivative, EASY to install...)..

Might try Mandrake or Debian I think on the new P..... ;-)

Cool, glad you found it helpful. Let me know how it goes (and if you write anything up, please do post a link here)--I'm thinking about upgrading one of these days but not sure if I'll be able to get the touchscreen working again if I do.

Thanks for the lifebook page! I was very happy to find the pen driver for ubuntu.

My install was easy, I took the drive out of the lifebook and put it into a desktop with an 40 pin to laptop IDE converter cable and installed the latest ubuntu up to the point where it reboots. From there I put it back in the lifebook and let it finish instalIling. Wireless worked right off, I have not tested the power settings to see if it sleeps/resumes but the battery info shows up correctly.

I just discovered your site. I am going to install linux on my lifebook. You mentioned on your site that you used a non-standard driver to get the wireless working. You said that details were available upon request. Can I get the details from you.

Jim

Hi, that's pretty old info by now; Ubuntu worked out of the box.
